Antique frame from the Chicago Portrait Co. , convex glass 😍

How nice is this frame with convex glass with a sweet print attached to the inside of the glass 😍

Frame was made by the Chicago Portrait Co , founded in 1893 and was in business until about 1940. Chicago Portrait Co. was the largest company of its kind in the USA💪

After the customer had supplied an original photo, it was enlarged and colored with watercolor, Indian ink, oil paint, pastels or chalk.
The finished photo was on a bent piece of cardboard.

The seller placed the photos in the frames before showing them to his customers in hopes of selling them both the frame and the photo they ordered.
The moldings look like grooved wood, but some sources say they are made of painted plaster and some say they are plastic-coated wood.

The price from then is still on the back, $ 7.90 😀

This is a hand-colored lithographic print of a painting by William A Carson (1867-1949), a California artist (also lived in Iowa and Illinois) who was known for landscape and coastal painting. His work was oil on canvas, this piece is paper under glass.
The color has faded a bit and the frame also has some damage, but it's really good 😍
